About The Role:
As Head of M&A and Partnerships, you will be responsible for MRP acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments across MRP’s portfolio (Offshore, Onshore, Solar and PTX). The successful candidate will be a part of building a function that supports the growth of Mainstream’s business and its mission for a world electrified by renewable energy. As Mainstream enters new markets the Head of M&A and Partnerships will contribute to the market entry strategy by identifying global and local partnerships as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support strategy development and corporate growth activities in M&A and Business Development
- Support strategic portfolio analysis and respective organizational measures incl. recommendations for structuring and delivery of respective transactions
- Support business case and auction model development by providing Partnerships & Transaction relevant assumptions regarding sell-down and competitor cost of capital
- Executing M&A transactions, incl. negotiating and setting up contract structures with support from legal team
- Managing ongoing relationships with partners
- Participation in (Offshore) tenders with respect to partner activities
- Screening, identification and acquisition of development assets
- Capital rotation
- Building up market intelligence and relevant investor know-how to identify investment and partnering opportunities and anticipate developments
- Relationship management
- Collaborate and work closely with other functions within the central corporate team and shareholders on a frequent basis.
Education and Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in M&A
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the renewable energy industry including strong network in particular with Offshore wind global players
- Excellent analytical skills and strategic mindset
- Advanced degree, preferably with a focus in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- Fluency in English including excellent written and oral communications skills
- Experience in leading multicultural teams and working in a cross functional structure
- Strong team player that thrives in a challenging, dynamic environment and can manage across multiple projects
- Strong critical and analytical reasoning and good commercial acumen
