Summary of Role:
As the Head of Corporate Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial landscape, ensuring that we maintain financial stability and have access to the necessary capital to support our renewable energy projects. You will lead a dynamic team responsible for supporting decision-making, maximising financial performance, investment analysis, fundraising / management of funds raised and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Manage the Corporate Finance Team and have resource in place to meet the needs of the business.
- Corporate Equity & Debt Fundraising, with ongoing management of funds raised.
- Maintain senior level relationships with a wide range of potential sources of equity and debt finance – to ensure ready access to and efficient deployment of funding to the business as required.
- Input to the development of an on-going capital allocation of the funding element of the company’s overall Business Strategy – along with the CFO & finance team.
- Prioritise shareholder value and plan for future shareholder liquidity.
- Develop and execute the company's corporate finance strategy to support our renewable energy projects and growth plans.
- Manage trade finance, letters of credit and group bonding line requirements across the group.
- Assess and manage financial risks, including investment strategies and debt structures.
- Be the center of expertise for Project Finance, setting project finance standards, approving key project finance terms and leveraging the expertise for the whole group.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing corporate finance team.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive cost-effective financial solutions to reduce overall cost base and minimise cost of capital.
- Stay updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and market conditions.
- Oversight of the Company’s Investor Relations, managing relations with external stakeholders, particularly the retail shareholder base
- Oversight of the Company’s Sustainability Function ensuring the Company meets its sustainability targets and reporting obligations.
- Ownership of the Company’s Risk and Investment Committee process, organising meetings, reviewing materials and ensuring proposals are independently reviewed prior to submission and in line with appropriate capital allocation group processes and business plan.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Third level degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or post-graduate qualification preferred).
- Professional qualification (CFA, ACA preferred)
- Minimum experience threshold of 10+ years as a finance professional.
- Experience of the renewable energy industry essential. Knowledge of the fundraising process on a corporate and project level for a renewable energy business across different regions globally.
- Proven experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or a related field.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
