Mainstream Renewable Power is looking for an Energy Markets Analysis Manager. You will be responsible for fundamental analysis in the markets that Mainstream operate in and are seeking to enter. The successful candidate will be a part of building a function that supports the growth of Mainstream’s business and its mission for a world electrified by renewable energy. As Mainstream enters new markets the Markets Analysis Manager will provide analysis and assist in developing new market entry strategies. They will also support the market activities across the regions and business units.
What you will do?
- Leading fundamental analysis of the energy markets where Mainstream is active and where it is assessing opportunities to enter. Responsibility for producing and presenting regular updates of all relevant fundamentals where the business unit has exposure or is considering new business
- Support regional business units in the analysis of the Market regulatory and policy environment of the markets where Mainstream operates
- Support strategy development and corporate growth activities in M&A and Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial and markets functions within the regional business units and co-ordinate market research activities and regular knowledge sharing across regions. Collaborate and work closely with other functions within the central corporate team and shareholders on a frequent basis.
- Prepare and present Energy Market analysis to key stakeholders including senior management, shareholders and industry stakeholders.
What we require?
- Experience developing and maintaining regular updates to fundamental price curves for power prices, capacity and ancillary services markets and REC values for existing and new markets.
- Experience with power market forecasting models and a robust understanding of energy market fundamentals.
- Deep knowledge of data frameworks, programming skills and database querying ability, such as experience with Python and SQL.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the energy industry. Experience and knowledge of renewable generation is preferred but not essential.
- Advanced degree, preferably with a focus in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
- Fluency in English including excellent written and oral communications skills
- Experience in leading multicultural teams and working in a cross-functional structure
- Strong team player that thrives in a challenging, dynamic environment and can manage across multiple projects
- Strong critical and analytical reasoning and good commercial acumen
