Job Purpose
The Investor Relations Associate will work closely with the Capital Raising and Business Development team as well as other divisions, at times, within CFM to optimally organize and maintain the relationships with the existing investors of the funds which are managed by CFM.
A core focus will be (a) to expand the current IR platform/toolbox, (b) to ensure accurate and timely exchange of information and reporting on the performance of the funds and projects in which the funds have been invested and (c) contribute to fundraising via developing supporting tools for storytelling approach.
Central to the job purpose is to explain to investors “what we do, why we do it, how we do it, and why it makes sense to them.”
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a central point of contact and focus for (existing) investors’ enquiries and respond to ad hoc requests from current investors (including commercial/institutional investors, development finance institutions and donors).
- Maintain a client relationship database of existing investors and IR database platform.
- Work both across teams / departments and independently to assemble financial and operational data.
- Analyse performance data and external market data.
- Produce quarterly investor reports with utmost attention to details.
- Prepare regular newsletters to promote fundraising.
- Support coordination of bi-annual investor meetings.
- Develop tools to support proactive investor communication.
Qualifications and Experience
- 2-4 years’ (Associate) experience in engineering and/or finance, Private Equity, Development Finance Institutions (DFI), infrastructure, Investment Banking (Equity Capital Markets, M&A, project finance and/or placement agents/advisors). Preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector. Preferably in investor relations.
- Honours Financial degree or equivalent Post Graduate qualification
- Knowledge of legal / governance would be advantageous.
- Financial acumen – the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data.
- Basic Sales / Relationship management skills combined with a technical/financial ability to explain the mandate and concepts of CFM.
- Basic understanding of the products offered by CFM and their benefits.
- A passion for sustainable investing and emerging markets.
- An understanding of investors decision making processes, timelines, asset allocations and rationale.
- Competence in spreadsheet / data base applications (i.e. advanced Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM data software.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English.
- Interpersonal individual who is able to build strong relationships and networks.
