The Meatable approach for creating ‘cell-based’ meat is based on ground-breaking proprietary technology that was developed at The University of Cambridge and allows us to turn pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) into muscle and fat cells, creating 100% real, delicious, guilt free meat. We use PSCs because they have amazing benefits that enable affordable, at scale production (e.g. they are pluripotent, grow completely serum free, have unlimited proliferation capacity and can grow in suspension). During your internship you will work in the Bovine team which is part of the Research and Development department to support the culture and characterization of bovine stem cell lines that will be used for the development of cultured beef products.

You will be responsible to maintain bovine stem cell lines and perform cell-based assays under close supervision of scientists and technicians of the team. Your responsibilities will include preparation of cell culture media and reagents, maintenance of both 2D and 3D cell cultures and conducting cell and molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and immunofluorescence assays.

Qualifications

Life-Science Laboratory HBO or equivalent
Knowledge of the common cell culture techniques
Proven hands-on experience with cell culture techniques
Experience of work with mammalian iPSC or ESC is a plus
Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques such as immunofluorescence and qPCR is a plus
A minimum internship of 6 months is required
