About the Role:
During your internship, you will work in the Bioprocessing Team which is part of the Research & Development (R&D) Department.
You will be challenged to design and perform lab experiments to reduce the production of inhibitory molecules during culture, by optimizing the bioreactor's feeding strategy and improving medium composition.
You will perform independent experiments within cross-functional collaborative projects that transition from research into product development. You will work closely with our scientific experts in bioprocess engineering, molecular cell biology, biochemistry, and food science to bring innovation to your progress.
You are results-oriented and work hard to achieve your part of the company's goals. You have a strong set of interpersonal communication skills, and you can effectively communicate your results to colleagues with different expertise or backgrounds. You are eager to learn new lab techniques. You are creative, independent, and able to deal with unexpected changes and work in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
· At least 6 months internship is required.
· Education: Master student in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or Life Science and Technology.
· Capable to design and perform fermentation runs (shake flask and bioreactor). Experience with mammalian cells is valued but not necessary.
· Knowledge in microbial biotechnology, fermentation technology, and cell metabolism.
· Knowledge of mammalian cell metabolism and metabolic kinetic modelling is highly valued, but not necessary.
· Knowledge of general aseptic techniques in microbiology labs.
· Preferred starting date: February 01, 2024.
