Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full time and is responsible for leading our international response team. The International Response Manager will help support the Global Response Manager with ongoing projects, development and capacity building opportunities. This position is totally remote with travel up to 30% of the time.
Reporting Relationships
Essential Functions
Support the Global Response Manager in ongoing projects and planning related to the organization’s capacity for international response.
Oversee and manage ongoing Disaster Assistance Response Teams for international responses.
When required, deploy at short notice to lead assessments to disaster impacted regions across the world and help set up new responses and programs, including identifying and connecting with stakeholders, considering Health Safety and Security, managing finance, and hiring a program team.
Identify training needs for International Response staff and volunteers and aid the Global Response Manager in the development of new tools and training to address these gaps and build capacity, while reviewing lessons learned and updating processes.
Prepare reports, proposals and project design for projects in response to the needs on the ground.
Support the Global Response Manager in standardizing all relevant documentation and departmental processes to ensure continuity of international programs, and contribute to the overall objectives of the operations team.
Directly manage and support program teams in the response phase, providing guidance to the Program Director and working with other departments as needed.
We understand vaccination is the best way to protect our beneficiaries, community members, staff and volunteers. Therefore, we require all staff members working in in-person environments (including program staff, office staff, team meetings and program visits) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable guidance, the term fully vaccinated currently refers to when an individual has received all recommended Covid-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
