ABOUT THE ROLE
3Degrees helps organizations around the world implement renewable energy, transportation decarbonization, and other climate solutions. Our Contracts team is a highly valued strategic partner to our teams across the company, and we are looking to bolster our European operations with a contracts professional seeking a fresh opportunity to work with a growth-minded and purpose-driven legal team in a mission driven company. In this role, you will support the company’s fast-paced and progressive teams of renewable energy experts with dedicated contracting support. The role is a cross-functional partner to a variety of divisions, including our Commercial and Trade Operations teams. Reporting to the Contracts Director, Legal, this is a full-time position based in the Netherlands, ideally around Amsterdam or the Hague.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role joins a team of contract professionals responsible for maintaining all stages of a high-volume, global contracting process; initial drafting, negotiation, and completion of contracts while accurately capturing details in the inventory management system. This diligent process protects the company from unnecessary risks, strengthens relationships with counterparties, and brings each transaction to an efficient close. Some of the tasks include:
- Assist in managing a high-volume contract pipeline from start to finish, efficiently and professionally in a fast pace and deadline-oriented environment
- Proficiency in drafting contracts and special provisions
- Daily interfacing and collaborating with international employees and counterparties with a sense of professionalism and urgency
- Review and redline contracts to ensure they accurately reflect the transaction and align with company policies
- Reconcile the company database with the contract to accurately reflect finalized details of executed agreements
- Ensure contracts are in compliance with the regulatory framework
- Assist in improving processes and systems for various groups throughout the company
ABOUT YOU
You are someone that has already dealt with large multinationals and understands how they operate. You are a highly focused and conceptual thinker skilled at succinctly drafting and reviewing a variety of contracts. You are highly organized and bring a process-oriented mindset, skilled at completing assignments with limited or no guidance. You enjoy managing various tasks and are comfortable sharing company perspectives with colleagues at all levels, including consulting as a trusted business partner with commercial teams. You possess excellent business judgment and can communicate professionally with internal and external parties. The following experiences and skills would demonstrate your ability to be successful in this role:
- Experienced working on multi-national contracts with US based companies
- A strong foundation or degree in either US or Common (UK) contracting law
- A high proficiency in verbal and written English is essential; other European language proficiency would be a distinct advantage, for example Norwegian, Spanish, German or Italian
- Skilled and precise at reviewing redlines and identifying potential risks
- Experienced customer manager with counterparties, clients, and internal team members
- Skilled problem-solver with an ability to mitigate risks by drafting special clauses and improving contract templates
- Experienced in accurately filling in forms responsive to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) or KYC (Know Your Customer) requests while maintaining a composed and customer service mindset
- Highly structured with a systematic approach to completing various task-oriented responsibilities
- Adept at balancing a consistent daily workflow and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Skilled at working well with others in diverse, multicultural teams and maintaining professionalism during peak times
- Possesses an attitude with the appreciation for constructive feedback and a desire to contribute to a fast-paced and high-performing team
- Familiarity working with Google Suite and Microsoft Word
- Experience working with lifecycle management tools, Lexion would be a plus
- International contracting experience in international renewable energy commodities (EACs) a plus
HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
In this role, you will work alongside all departments within the company to contribute to our goal of maintaining an efficient, accurate, risk-reduced, and responsive legal operation. Success factors specific to this role include:
Within 30 days
- Develop a practical working knowledge of the key tools and software resources available to you, in particular Lexion, MS Word and G Suite
- Gain a clear understanding of the processes involved to accurately track contractual obligations in the company database
Within 90 days

You will have gained a comprehensive knowledge of 3Degrees business units, products and service offerings

Be capable of using 3Degrees processes to uphold company policies and guidelines while drafting contracts

You will be efficiently managing the initiation and completion of standard contracts, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
Within six months
- You will have developed a strong foundational knowledge of the renewable energy industry in order to utilize and apply best practice and standards in your daily work
- You will become a trusted strategic partner to multiple stakeholders and will be working seamlessly across business units to ensure the timely and proficient output of contract deliverables
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $79,000 to $124,000 in the US. The employment agreement will be converted and stated in the currency applicable to the candidate's location. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This is a Europe-based remote role and currency will be converted to the local currency based on USD equivalent. Conversion rates are reviewed biannually, at a minimum

- Supplemental Pay: this position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the company’s profit sharing program and an annual performance bonus based on personal, department and company goals.
