ABOUT THE ROLE

The goal of the 3Degrees Summer Internship Program is to give each member of our intern class the opportunity to gain tactical work experience, as well as industry knowledge. We believe your experience as a 3Degrees intern will ultimately make you more employable in the future as you begin to navigate your career to make a positive contribution to the future of our planet.

3Degrees’ IT Helpdesk Team is an internal resource for 3Degrees’ business units, providing resources and support with technological equipment, software & accounts. Our rapidly changing infrastructure has resulted in the need for multiple migrations to new systems and processes, many of which require coordination with 3Degrees end users.  The Desktop team does not have the bandwidth to undertake all of these migration projects.

3Degrees’ Summer Internship Program, hybrid-office policy, aligns with  full-time employees.  If you are within a commutable distance to any of our offices (San Francisco, Portland, OR, or Portland, ME) we will set you up to work out of our offices for one or more days per week. PROJECT DURATION

START DATE: Monday, June 12, 2023

END DATE: Friday, August 18 - Friday, September 1, 2023

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The IT Helpdesk Intern will focus on the following:

• Active Directory consolidation onto the Azure domain, and off the LUNA domain
• Company-wide upgrade to Windows 11
• IT inventory conversion from spreadsheet to Azure
• Ticket statistics evaluation and help develop a plan for service improvements and efficiencies
• Developing documentation to contribute to 3Degrees internal knowledge base

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This project will include:

• Taking the lead on at least one of the above three projects
• Participating in multiple projects
• Learning the systems and processes required to achieve the desired results

Deliverables

• Complete Active Directory consolidation onto the Azure domain, and off the LUNA domain
• Complete company-wide upgrade to Windows 11
• Convert IT inventory from spreadsheet to Azure
• Present Capstone presentation on the scope of the project, the planning and implementation process, the deliverables, and the overall impact of the project on the team and the intern.

ABOUT YOU

You are a creative problem solver, collaborative professional, who possesses a strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software. We believe an individual with this knowledge, combined with the following experience would be successful in this role.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Work experience specifically including the installation, maintenance or repair of computers
• Experience supporting Windows and Mac laptops
• Technical certifications -- HDI, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc. is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Compensation: The minimum and maximum hourly rate for this position is $18.50/hour for undergraduate students and recent graduates to $20.00/hour for graduate-level students in the US.
• Benefits: this position is eligible for holiday pay. This compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future
