Summer Internship, C-Quest Capital Finance team

Location: UK – London office/ hybrid

This is a full-time paid internship for 8 to 10 weeks

Target start date: mid-June, 2024

The role:  While based in the UK, this role offers a unique glimpse into the financial operations of projects executed in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. It will give you the opportunity to work both with the central finance team and local operational teams. You'll have the chance to leverage your expertise in finance and project accounting principles, applying them to real-world projects while offering support to the operational team.

This is a great opportunity to gain meaningful work experience and understanding of finance business partnering.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assist in identifying and implementing a budgeting tool for (NBS Nature Based Solutions) projects assessment.

  • Understanding project needs,
  • Researching existing tools,
  • Recommending the most suitable options based on capabilities and value for money,
  • Assisting in implementing the tool, including dashboard creation for budget tracking and burn rate monitoring.

Malawi NetSuite migration- Provide occasional assistance to the migration team:

  • Transaction recording,
  • Conducting data checks.

Costs analysis update:

  • Expend Gain an understanding of the existing study related to the 300k Households serviced in Sub Saharan Africa and the costs drivers,
  • Update historical data to reconcile to actual costs.

Internship requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in university degree program in the third or final year in finance, accounting or other relevant field of study.
  • Ability to work successfully from home/work remotely.

The successful candidate will likely:

  • Have an interest in international and project finance and the carbon finance, carbon neutral impact industry.
  • Have initiative and an industrious work ethic to successfully complete their duties.
  • Be able to multitask with a high degree of organization and sharp attention to detail.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively in situations where there are cultural differences or language barriers.
  • Work well in a team environment, both with colleagues and business stakeholders in an international, multicultural environment.
