Background: This is a contract position for several months filling in during a leave of absence.
Core Tasks:
Assist in maintenance of proper filing system for administrative, finance and project documentation.
Confirm and seek approval on all invoices paid to country staff, local contractors, and petty cash payments.
Prepares payment of the invoices, contracts of services, statutory deductions, payments to the field teams and other purchases, once approval has been received.
Assist in organizing storage of all goods procured, maintain and update inventory list.
Responsible for checking the quantity and quality of goods received from suppliers.
Assisting the Country Manager in electronic record keeping, particularly for carbon auditing requirements.
Attend to request from the Country Director regarding bookings and other travel necessities.
Ensures items are properly organized and are correctly stored, well protected, fully identified etc.
Ensure proper management of stores including receiving and issuing goods, developing stores reports and weekly reconciliations.
Provide administrative support to HR department.
Completes price analysis of goods and service (procurement) as needed.
Execute duties according to standard operating procedures or with explicit written approval by Country Director
Assists with administrative tasks for the company as needed.
Assist in clearing shipments being sent to and sent from The Gambia.
Assists with other projects as needed.
Location: The Gambia, with global communication as CQC relies heavily on staff working at home and the use of video conferencing technology to communicate between its team across the world. The position is based in The Gambia, preferably Kombo area, reporting to and working with the Operations Team located in the U.S.
Travel: minimal.
Supervision: The interim position reports the Country Director and works in daily collaboration with the Country Manager and other in-country Managers. This is a non-supervisory position, with supervision and hiring of in-country teams, directed by Country Director.
Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:
Bachelor's degree preferably focused on finance, accounting, business, human resources, or international development, with an advanced degree(s) in relevant fields advantageous, depending on the field of study and experience gained.
Experience in building and facilitating relationships for rural and/or urban development programs.
Familiarity with Supply Chain Management in The Gambia, desired.
Applied cross-sector knowledge and proficiency in one or more of the following areas: health, environmental/conservation/forestry, agriculture, sustainable/renewable energy, or gender/women’s empowerment.
Availability to travel domestically on an as-needed and short-notice basis.
Competent with email, WhatsApp, and Skype/Zoom video calls. Smartphone and computer literacy required.
Written and oral proficiency and literacy in English language and local country languages.
Proficiency in facilitating and delivering training to non-expert audiences.
Patience and the desire to contribute to livelihoods development and climate transformation technologies.
Demonstrated experience in handling and analyzing large data sets and relational databases, advantageous.
High-level written and verbal communication skills with experience working in a global team environment are an advantage.
Timeliness to meetings and calls and honest communication of on-the-ground realities are required.
