The Organization
The Florence Project seeks an Interim Development Manager to oversee the work of the Development Department and staff. The Development Manager works in collaboration with the rest of the Development Team and Executive Director to develop and drive the implementation of a donor-centered Fund Development Plan for the Florence Project.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team Management:
Direct management of data entry and stewardship positions on the team. Training as needed for volunteers and staff during high coverage moments.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors, and ensure compliance with code of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct for fundraising executives.
Ensure compliance with the organization’s own fund development and philanthropic principles, policies, and procedures.
Development Plan Execution & Management:
Work with the Executive Director and Development Counsel to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of on-going fundraising campaigns and event initiatives, including fundraising efficiency, potential, and overall success. Develop and implement strategies to enhance growth potential.
Manage a comprehensive direct mail program and online giving strategies.
With the support of the development team, plan and execute events as needed.
Database Management:
Ensure integrity of Raiser's Edge database by establishing and monitoring processes and protocols for data entry and management. This includes development and upkeep of a database manual.
Design and run reports to ensure evaluation of fund development strategies.
Work with the Development Team to ensure usability of the database for specific strategies: direct mail, email, donor portfolio management, donor research, segmentation and targeting, etc.
Other duties:
Minimum Requirements:
B.A. or B.S. degree or comparable experience required, Master's preferred. Minimum 2 years in working in a successful development team, having considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques.
Experience with Raiser's Edge.
Comfortable using a donor database to aid in management process.
Well versed in direct mail and email solicitation best practices and implementation.
Demonstrate zealous support for and able to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for FIRRP’s mission.
Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making with excellent research and analytical skills, and proven experience effectively managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Strength of character, integrity, commitment, and reliability.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to develop and implement processes.
Ability to track information and report on it succinctly and powerfully.
Adherence to high ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Able to travel to Tucson or Phoenix when required.
Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
Proven computer and typing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Must be passionate about access to justice for all and serving people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system.

Preferred Requirements:
Supervisory or management experience.
Project management experience.
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credentialing preferred.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time, temporary assignment. The incumbent's annual base salary will be increased by $10,000 during the period of the interim managerial role. This increase will take effect at the beginning and will cease at the end of the temporary assignment. All health and time off benefits benefits will remain the same through the duration of the interim assignment.
