About the Job 
We are currently seeking a Tier 1 Information Technology Support Technician for our internal IT department. The day-to-day work will vary with an emphasis on end user support and Tier 1 troubleshooting. This role offers future opportunities to manage tasks and projects, collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues and staff, communicate with clients and vendors, and training to advance your IT skills and career.

This position may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

As a Tier 1 Information Technology Support Technician, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

• Configures Windows computer setups
• Manages warranty support
• Assists with asset recovery
• Communicates with clients on progress of computer replacements
• Assists end users with authentication and account requests
• Updates software, security patches, and drivers
• Manages the shipping and receiving of IT equipment
• Updates standard operating procedures
• Manages asset tracking system and asset inventory
• Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support and services for end users.
• Escalation of complex issues to higher-level support members
• Provides support with hardware, software, and peripheral issues
• Assists with the IT aspect of onboarding new hires
• Provides support with IT procurement
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, information technology, computer science, or a similar field.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2+ years of experience in IT Systems support
• Minimum of 1 year of professional IT help desk experience
• Hands-on experience trouble shooting Windows OS 10/11 systems, peripherals, and printers.
• Experience working in Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange, and Microsoft 365
• Intermediate understanding of networking
• Pertinent IT certifications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
• Strong organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

Annual Salary Range:  $24.04–$28.85/hour

An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid sick leave (80 hours per year), paid vacation (10 days), paid holidays (9 days per year), and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
