The Role: Xylem seeks to hire an Industrial Engineer for the Xylem-AWS-Lubbock, Texas facility. This position is responsible for developing standardized handling methods and standardized times for all manufacturing personnel. This position is also responsible for preparing and coordinating capital projects through analysis of production data and forecast information and overseeing the projects with the facility and the supply chain.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Optimizes and standardizes machining & assembly processes to warrant product quality.
- Improves production cells’ design and introduce cost-effective processes under an ergonomically set environment.
- Designs and develops automated machines and software for the manufacturing processes.
- Executes LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
- Creates and maintain standards for productivity.
- Develops and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
- Implements automated measurement systems and machinery preventive maintenance plans.
- Standardizes machining operations and controls enhancing optimum OEEs.
- Prepares workplace layouts and improve process flow, space utilization with focus on waste reduction/elimination.
- Leads and execute CapEx. and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Identifies manufacturing cost reductions and provide ROI justifications.
- Tracks and executes cost reduction for process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Ability to understand production processes.
- Ability to understand and lead the implementation of automation systems/robotics.
- Work towards increasing safety and efficiency of production processes.
- Strong analytical and technical skills are needed.
- Self-motivated to implement goals with little supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to take a leadership role in group meetings and projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Strong short-term project management skills required.
- Ability to work with ambiguity.
