We are growing our team, and we are looking for an Industrial/Master Electrician who will play a key role in supporting the Manufacturing and Engineering team as we move from design to implementation of our onsite, containerized Green Ammonia production technology. This position will report to the COO. As we are a growing organization, the reporting structure may shift in the near future.
Who WE are:
FuelPositive is a Canadian-based, clean technology company, working to fight climate change by creating and developing practical, clean, and sustainable carbon-free solutions that can be implemented economically now. Above all, we believe in being kind – to the earth, to each other, and to ourselves. We believe that being kind will pay dividends for us all. It’s all about Fuel for a Mindful World.
What WE make:
Our lead product, an onsite, containerized Green Ammonia production system that is modular and scalable, will revolutionize clean energy through a patent-pending, first-of-its-kind technology invented in Canada. The system takes air, water and a sustainable electricity source to produce green anhydrous ammonia with no carbon emissions. Adoption will dramatically support global targets to reduce CO2 emissions. And our decentralized, in situ approach will bring supply chain independence to our first customers – farmers – for the first time.
If you want to make a Positive impact, be relevant and make a change, join our team and become a part of the solution!
What YOU will do:
Working collaboratively with our Master Electrician as well as our Manufacturing and Engineering teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the installation of our systems meet the requirements under the Electrical Code. That means maintaining and repairing all electrical structures as well as ordering all electrical materials. You will be our Subject Matter Expert. Your role will also have you travelling with the Installation team to ensure the field wiring is completed and that the system is functioning as it needs to be from an electrical standpoint. Collaborating with the Engineering team, you will also work on wiring all the panels, and ensuring the integration of the machinery is in accordance with our requirements and specifications. You will be encouraged to overcome your obstacles and be creative in your decision-making, rather than waiting for instructions from others in the chain of command.
Excelling at what we do is important, and so you will be part of the design review process, providing your expert input on how we can do things better to deliver the best product to our customers. You don’t mind travelling a bit, which you will get to do as you support the installation and integration of our systems. As our systems and services develop, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring that the manuals are up to date and that you adhere to all related safe work practices and customer safety requirements. There will be lots to do, so this summary is only an idea of what the role holds for you.
Who YOU are:
You’ve seen our values, and they resonate with you. You are passionate about participating in creating solutions to climate change. You have a 442A Industrial Electrician license and previous experience (5+ years) working in the field. You have working experience with Industrial Controls specifically with Allen Bradley and Siemens; but it is an added bonus if you have worked with GE, ABB, and other PLC types. Your previous experience in field wiring and system integration will make you a key part of the team.
Your day-to-day work will require you to have a strong background and hands-on experience on panel wiring, wiring up systems, and installation. You possess the ability to communicate clearly, whether it is to your colleagues, to contractors or stakeholders – talking to people and getting your message across in a positive and collaborative way is a strength of yours. You have the ability to move around as you will perform site evaluations, installations, commissioning and service across Canada, and internationally.
Why you will love us:
We are a team in the truest sense of the word. As a group, we are looking to make a positive impact in our world, and are excited to have others join us. Each person we invite to join the team shares our values and will be able to provide specific skills to guide us in achieving our mission. We want to create a space where you can show up as you are – you can share with us, learn with us, and grow with us as a team.
Perks of joining us:
We offer competitive compensation; we want to find the right person for this position, and we will compensate accordingly, based on the experience you bring. We like to build trust with our employees, so payroll is deposited in advance on the 1st and 16th of every month. We are here to help you grow your overall development and push your career forward. At FuelPositive, there are multiple avenues to explore your learning and development with the support of your leader and our HR team. We also take pride in our safety training programs and you will have the opportunity to be enrolled in our extensive safety training from Day One. Depending on your role, you will be expected to complete multiple mandatory courses such as First Aid, CPR and related courses.
We also want you to feel appreciated and have fun! We are building a culture that celebrates people, because we all need to feel valued. We formally recognize birthdays, anniversaries, new hires and outstanding personal achievements. We’ve created a comfortable workplace and a sophisticated manufacturing shop and R&D lab in Waterloo, Ontario, that will make you proud. Did we mention we offer drinks and snacks? We also want to brag a little and share that we are a proud winner of the Best Place to Work award in 2023 by HRD Canada.
