IN-23005 Activism Outreach Intern

Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Activism Outreach Intern.

Main Function

This paid internship is based in the US and will provide an opportunity for a college-level senior or recent college graduate to play a role in helping grow the WWF-US activism program.

Specifically, the intern will work on projects that will help better connect activists in the US – including our most engaged and committed activists, Panda Ambassadors – to each other and WWF’s work. The intern will work directly with members of the Activism and Outreach team and assist with content creation, internal coordination, and in-platform social implementation.

We’re looking for candidates passionate about conservation and communities with experience on social media platforms, a history of leadership, and an eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop tactics related to key campaigns with the WWF Activism and Outreach;
  • Assist with creation of creative SMS and social media content and strategy for WWF Action Team channels to promote actions, updates, events, activists, and more;
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing reporting on an as-needed basis;
  • Research trends and optimal practices for post cadence, content calendaring, and other key engagement processes across social media and community building platforms;
  • Assist with ongoing projects for the Panda Ambassador program, such as monthly webinar planning, new program development, and event planning;
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience**:** College-level senior or recent graduate
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Solution-oriented and proactive in creative critical thinking
    • Strong relational skills with a willingness to work in a team environment, and also independently;
    • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills guided by attention to detail;
    • Experience building stories across multiple digital channels – social media (Instagram, Twitter), SMS, email;
    • Comfortable with Microsoft tools (Word, Outlook, and Excel);
    • Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and HTML/CSS;
    • Demonstrates a history of leadership, initiative, and accountability for work.
  • The ideal candidate will also have some of the following:
    • Activism experience
    • Event planning experience
    • Strong knowledge of social media channels – Instagram and Twitter
  • Availability:
    • 20 hours per week
