Reports To: Impact & Knowledge Management Unit Lead, in coordination with the Monitoring and Data Management Officer
Summary
The Impact & Knowledge Management Unit is responsible for capturing, managing, and disseminating knowledge within the project and across MEDA to enhance impact and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. The unit plays a pivotal role in ensuring that data, information, insights, and learnings from our project activities are effectively communicated and leveraged to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Objective: The Knowledge Management Assistant will support the Impact & Knowledge Management Unit by conducting research, documenting activities as needed, prepare written and visual communications material, overseeing social media activities, and fostering strong interpersonal relationships within the organization. The Assistant will support in enhancing the visibility and impact of the unit’s work through effective knowledge sharing and communication strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research Support:
Provide documentation support during Gender Progress Marker (GPM) Data Collection
Communications:
Assist in the design of knowledge management products based on data collected to be shared to cacao industry stakeholders such as best practices and guidelines in cacao production, management of digital content, including articles, blogs, and documentation and capture customer interactions and insights.
Assist in the production of social media materials i.e. social media posts/ texts, infographics, photo stories.
Support the organization in documenting webinars, workshops, and other project events.
Social Media Management:
Support the implementation of social media strategies to enhance the unit’s online presence.
Assist in curating the content of the project’s social media platforms (for RIISA’s Facebook Page).
Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
Interpersonal Skills and Collaboration:
Foster strong working relationships with team members and other departments and clients
Assist in the coordination of cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings and taking minutes, whenever necessary.
Qualifications
Education: Units earned or recently finished a degree program in Communications, Social Sciences, Business Management, Information Management, or a related field.
Communications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create engaging and clear content for various audiences.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proactive and able to build positive relationships with colleagues.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), design applications such as Canva and use of digital hardware such as DSLR camera. Familiarity with content management systems and social media management tools is an asset.
Social Media Management: Experience with varied social media platforms and tools. Ability to develop and implement effective social media strategies.
Research Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough and accurate research.
