What are we looking for?
The HR Co-op will be a member of the Welland Team and working closely to support our North American Human Resources department. This includes performing a variety of assignments to support the optimization of talent acquisition, training, employee engagement & relations initiatives. Essential Responsibilities
Assists with tasks within the full cycle recruitment process, such as prescreen, schedule, background checks, onboarding); as well as collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and integrity.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Experience with human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications would be considered an asset.
