Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations.
Overview:
This is full time (40 hours/week) position and will serve on the U.S. program team, with responsibilities primarily in North Minneapolis. The Hub coordinator role is a part of the work of community outreach and coalition building efforts of the Community Peacebuilding Program in Minneapolis. The Hub Coordinator will greet community members as they come into the space, plan community-building events identified by Hub partners, manage social and print media to promote Hub events, coordinate the use of the community gathering room and office subleases, and work with the program team to provide logistic and operational support. The position will have guidance and support from the NP program team and their direct supervisor.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Strong commitment to the safety and security of civilians, human rights and racial justice
Two years’ work/volunteer experience, preferably with a non-profit, civil society organization or community-based organization or group
At least one year of experience with office management or administrative support
Proven ability to maintain a welcoming presence in a public space
Excellent communication skills and promptness in correspondence
Hybrid work schedule with four days in office and flexibility for additional presence in office
Availability for regular night and weekend events

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
Proficiency with Zoom, Skype, Signal and other similar software
Proficiency with SalesForce
Key Challenges:
Building and sustaining collaborative partnerships, negotiating, and resolving contentious issues and conflicts of interest while managing and balancing varied, diverse stakeholder priorities across a geographically dispersed region.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to manage potential conflict when greeting visitors at the Hub or during events
Skills and Competencies:
Understanding of structural racism and historical trauma of marginalized communities
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent relationship management skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Ability to multi-task and shift responsibilities quickly
Ability to take good notes during meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an NGO or similar organisation
At least one year of customer service or administrative support experience
Experience with technology such as Microsoft Suite, Outlook, SalesForce, and Zoom
Proven ability to shift focus and maintain deadlines
Working Conditions:
Operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time
The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
Some evenings and weekends may be required
Some travel may be required
