Reporting to the HSSE&S Manager for Oil and Gas Canada, the HSSE&S Coordinator will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System, and Client requirements, thereby ensuring business risks are prevented and mitigated.
This position will provide HSSE&S support, direction & mentorship to project staff, maintain effective lines of communication, and foster a good working relationship with internal and external Clients, requiring coordination of multi-office work with Wood’s Oil & Gas Office in Calgary, Global SMEs and Global Execution Centres to provide the required engineering resources for the project.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing all aspects of the HSSE&S management system
Ensure the HSSE&S Management System documentation is kept up-to-date and ensure policies and practices are adopted
Ensure the requirements stipulated in HSSE&S interface documents/plans are communicated to all relevant personnel
Support HSSE&S incident investigations and undertake the appropriate reporting requirements.
Assist in coordinating internal and external audits
Assist in communicating important messages from incidents and accidents as a part of the Progressive Learnings process to all relevant parties
Assist in ensuring that emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensure that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence
Manage fire wardens and first aiders, ensure training is up to date and adequate cover is assured
Liaise with and building relationships with Client HSSE&S Reps and site Safety Reps as required
Manage attendance and participation at project HSSE&S meetings, workshops and forums
HSSE&S poster and notice board updates
Procure, maintain, distribute PPE and other HSSE&S related items
Maintain contact with PPE/Training providers
Oversee Travel Risk Assessment and approval process
Maintain a system for monitoring HSSE&S performance
Coordinate attendance and prepare HSSE&S meeting agendas
Promote workforce involvement in all HSSE&S activities, initiatives and programs
