FuelPositive is hiring a

HR Specialist

🇨🇦 Kitchener, ON, CA 📝 FULL-TIME 🎯 MID LEVEL

We are growing our team, and we are looking for a results-driven, experienced Human Resources Specialist who will play a key role in supporting and leading our People and Culture initiatives. As we are a growing organization, this position will initially report to the COO, and it may shift in the near future.

Who we are:

FuelPositive is a Canadian-based, clean technology company, working to fight climate change by creating and developing practical, clean, and sustainable carbon-free solutions that can be implemented economically now. Above all, we believe in being kind – to the earth, to each other, and to ourselves. We believe that being kind will pay dividends for us all. It’s all about Fuel for a Mindful World.

What we make:

We are a progressive and dynamic team committed to providing solutions to solve climate change. Our onsite, containerized, Green Ammonia production technology disrupts the traditional model and sets a new standard for sustainability. If you want to make a Positive impact, be relevant and make a change, join our team and become a part of the solution!

What YOU will do:

Reporting to the Chief Operation Officer (COO), the Human Resources Specialist will champion all HR-related initiatives with the guidance of the executive team.

You will take the lead on all things Human Resources for the organization. There is a lot of work to do, and you will need to prioritize the important pieces for you to do, while outsourcing some of the other work to the external consultant supporting this role. Your main priority will be finding and attracting the right talent for the organization. As the commercialization of our product continues to speed up, we need to hire some key roles to make that happen. Through weekly meetings with the COO, you will finetune what the hiring priorities are, and you will be able to build a people plan that will support the growth of the organization. In order to succeed in this role, you will have the ability to manage the demands of the full cycle recruitment process, while ensuring that programs and policies are in place to support the growth and development of a high-performing culture within the organization.

As we are a manufacturing organization, you will need to support the implementation of the Health and Safety program. Your previous experience will allow you to make recommendations to ensure the health and well-being of our employees is a priority. You do not need to know all things health and safety, but enough that you know which questions to ask, and when to get support from an outside source.

This is a busy role that will require you to develop all HR programs and policies, manage the HRIS (BambooHR), benefit program, ensure payroll is processed in a timely manner, ensure training needs are being met, and compliance with relevant legislation is up to date. Are you up for the challenge?

Who YOU are:

You’ve seen our values, and they resonate with you. You can juggle multiple HR hats to see everything to flawless execution, completing tasks both efficiently and independently. You will draw from your years of experience (5+) to provide HR leadership and organizational support. Your day-to-day work will require you to have a strong HR background and practical hands-on experience in an HR Generalist capacity including Employee Relations, Terminations, Recruitment, Investigations, Performance Management, Benefits, Compensation etc.

As part of your education, you have a relevant degree or diploma; and have completed or are in the process of achieving the CHRP or CHRL designation. Knowledge of ESA, and other employment legislations and best practices is a must. You are a self-starter, able to problem solve as things come up, and you know when to escalate the issue to find a proper resolution. You know when to reach out for additional support and you are nimble when priorities shift through the organization. You love all things HR and are thirsty to learn more. You aspire to continually improve company culture and employee well-being. You have flexibility and willingness for domestic travel.

Why you will love us:

We are a team in the truest sense of the word. As a group, we are looking to make a positive impact in our world, and are excited to have others join us. Each person we invite to join the team shares our values and will be able to provide specific skills to guide us in achieving our mission. We want to create a space where you can show up as you are – you can share with us, learn with us, and grow with us as a team.

Perks of joining us:

We offer competitive compensation; we want to find the right person for this position, and we will compensate accordingly based on the experience you bring. We like to build trust with our employees, so payroll is deposited on the first of each month in advance for the full month. Additionally, we want to prioritize your wellness – you will be part of our comprehensive benefit plan and enjoy paid time off, including our Flexible Friday program, which will help to support your health and wellbeing.

Our office provides a comfortable space, currently housed between the Catalyst Commons and our manufacturing location on Northland Road, Waterloo. We are a dog-friendly office – if you’d like to bring your dog into the office to hang out, we would love that!

We thank all applicants for their interest; only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. FuelPositive is committed to providing a barrier-free application and interview process for all candidates.
