All Hands and Hearts is a disaster relief nonprofit. Our program bases are located in the communities we serve, and staff members live in communal environments. Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. The position is full-time and is responsible for providing efficient and immediate medical care for the ill and the injured members of our AHAH on program family and is responsible for maintaining health and safety on the program, including both base and field operations.

Essential Functions
Maintain, develop, and promote safe working practices for AHAH program (including on worksite and base), typically involving construction and communal living in an austere, post-disaster environment.
Assists with medical emergency situations involving AHAH staff and volunteers.
Follow AHAH Treatment Guidelines in medical emergencies.
Inventory, organize, and monitor first aid supplies and request additional supplies to be ordered as needed.
Assist with providing time sensitive analysis in response to real time threats and hazards, including weather events, political events, Covid-19, and other potential hazardous incidents.
Maintain, develop, and promote good health, safety, and security practices (including travel safety).
Verify hygienic procedures throughout base and on the work sites.
Support the Program Director and other team members with the development and/or review and implementation of documents, policies, and procedures across the breadth of Health, Safety, and Security including: high quality risk assessments; preventative measures to address relevant hazards and threats in accordance with risk assessments; Safety and Security manual and SOP; Contingency Plans to support potential emergency needs; adequate resources to support a safe, healthy, and secure operation or program.
Support the project team by providing additional resources to fulfill their responsibilities to Health and Safety.
Be the program’s lead for: local expert for support with incident reporting system; Garmin InReach GPS devices and other emergency equipment; health and safety equipment and systems (e.g. medical supplies, PPE, emergency food stocks, etc.).
Coordinate training to maintain safe work and operation practices on base and work site
Conduct or organize First Aid Training Sessions for staff and volunteers when required
Educate staff and volunteers on transmission of infection and disease through training, signage, meeting notes, etc.
Liaise with local medical and emergency services to maintain awareness of local hazards and capacities, and to leverage existing medical and emergency services appropriately.
Contribute to the organization’s real and tangible commitment to diversity, equality and inclusivity efforts in the Operations area.
