GVI has 2 exciting new roles in the Greater Kruger Area: 1) Groups Coordinator and 2) Program Coordinator
1) Groups Coordinator role:
The goal of the Groups Coordinator is to provide incredible experiences to the leaders of tomorrow. You'll do this by working with our global teams to facilitate school group expeditions as they work on sustainable development projects in one of the following breathtaking locations.
School groups run for 1-2 weeks at a time, with 1-2 week breaks in between, and so you will have the freedom to see the world in your downtime. With us, work and play are the job.
Role and responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the Groups Program Manager in delivering exceptional groups programs in-country
Supporting the onboarding and training of field staff
Ensuring all health and safety policies are adhered to
Leading group activities throughout the duration of a groups stay in-country
Liaising with local partners
Facilitating reflection sessions for students throughout the expedition
Delivering presentations and training relevant to the program
Collating feedback from participants and teachers
Ensuring all equipment is maintained throughout each expedition
Additional social media responsibilities where relevant
Potential to support core GVI programs when not on an expedition
Additional responsibilities in absence of Groups Program Manager
2) Program Coordinator role:
The goal of the Program Coordinator is to support the Program Manager at the GVI Limpopo base, which focuses on wildlife conservation on a big 5-game reserve.
Role and responsibilities:
Supporting in the running and development of projects.
Act as an enthusiastic role model for volunteers and provide guidance and mentorship.
Adopt a flexible work approach that will include working evenings and weekends.
Assisting to ensure that the programs continue to operate to a high standard for both volunteers and project partners
Assisting with administrative work if needed, including reporting and scheduling.
Ensure GVI’s child protection policies are implemented and maintained
Assist in the development of the under-18 and group programmes
Ensure all Health and Safety practices are being followed to a high standard and the necessary actions are taken should they not be
Motivate and support volunteers and participant's teams to a high level.
Ensure all volunteers and interns are completing their duties to the necessary standard and taking the appropriate actions if they are not.
Logistics: Help coordinate activities, side trips and airport transfers for our volunteers and ensure all details are communicated to volunteers in a timely manner
Ensure all day-to-day logistics run smoothly
About you

Personal attributes:
Professional skills and experience required for both roles:
1-2 years experience working in the field (preferably African wildlife)
Be a South African citizen/resident or have a minimum 2-year visa in place
Have a SA driver's license - Code 08/EB (including the ability to tow a trailer)
FGASA qualification and all necessary certificates to legally operate as a field guide
Experience working with international volunteers
Volunteer management experience
Fluency in English
Advantageous:
A conservation or education-related degree or qualification
Trained in First Aid
Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

FGASA level 1 apprentice or similar qualification
