Overview:
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), first announced in 2013, seeks to support the construction of infrastructure worth hundreds of billions of dollars across multiple countries along the Belt and Road. Ensuring that the BRI channels capital toward low-carbon and environmentally sustainable technologies and projects and avoids locking in high-carbon infrastructure is a top priority for WRI, particularly in relation to WRI’s role in the BRI International Green Development Coalition initiated by the China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
WRI seeks a Research Analyst to support the research agenda of Greening BRI Project and Sustainable Finance Center. The Analyst will undertake research on China’s overseas investment and their financial and environmental impact and provide recommendations on greening Belt and Road Initiative. The Analyst should expect to interact with government officials, financial institution practitioners, and other stakeholders. The position will require active collaboration with others in the Sustainable Finance Center and China office, as well as with other parts of WRI and external partners.
Responsibilities**:**
The Research Analyst's main areas of responsibility will include the following:
Research (75% of time)
Administrative (25% of time)
Qualifications:
Final candidate will be required to take a writing test.
