Overview of the Position

Social Solutions International Inc. is seeking a Grants Manager for the anticipated USAID-funded Digital Strategy Implementation & Programs Activity. This activity is designed to build the capacity of USAID Missions, Washington Operating Units (OUs), and partners to advance digital initiatives that enhance security and economic prosperity in partner countries while safeguarding individual rights, freedom of expression, and democratic norms and practices. The activity includes a large grants component that authorizes grants under contract (GUCs). Grants will be awarded to a selection of local civil society organizations (CSOs) and United States and international non-government organizations to implement activities in support of the activity’s objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Overseeing the Digital Strategy Grants Management team including the work and deliverables of technical consultants.
• Ensuring successful performance of the Digital Strategy grantmaking facility, with responsibilities ranging from adapting existing organizational grantmaking policies and procedures to soliciting, awarding, and managing grants, including capacity building support to grant recipients.
• Provide advisory assistance to grant applicants and lead the review of grant submissions.
• Analyze and evaluate grant submissions for technical and budget compliance with donor regulations.
• Coordinate the issuance of awards and maintain contract documentation through the upkeep of a grants database.
• Effectively coordinating and engaging with all Digital Strategy team members, grant applicants and grant recipients, USAID, and other key partners.
• Ensuring effective grants management and performance monitoring of grantees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, public policy or administration, or international development desirable; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

• At least five (5) years’ proven experience in administering a similar grants program with deep expertise in finance, accounting, auditing, economics, business, or closely related field.

• Extensive understanding of USAID regulations and procedures pertaining to grants management and subcontracting.

• Demonstrated ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.

• Ability to analyze technical and cost proposals and prepare reports and recommendations.

• Proven records maintenance and database management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal/diplomatic skills and cultural/political sensitivity.

• Speaking, writing, and reading fluency in English required.
