CPI’s India office currently focuses on three workstreams a) Green and Sustainable Finance b) Energy Transition including electricity transition, industrial decarbonization and transport decarbonization and c) Improving Access to Finance for distributed renewable energy projects/businesses through project preparatory facilities technical assistance (TA) programs and risk mitigation mechanisms. The nature of the work varies across consulting /research projects and program management.
JOB SUMMARY
CPI is currently looking for a Grants and Operations Manager to support our India office in implementing its programs. The incumbent will be part of the CPI India team working with the Director/Associate Director/Senior Manager to increase our program outreach, manage stakeholder relationships – government, industry, banking and finance sector, industry associations and academia with a focus on Sustainable Finance and Energy Transition workstream partnerships, grant reporting systems, and managing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)/Impact Assessment tasks for program grants. In addition, you also be responsible for working with Finance and Operations staff in India and globally to manage the project operations processes through IT-enabled information workflow systems. You would also keep yourself informed and monitor different programs and projects to ensure compliance with funding terms (along with Finance), perform grant reporting as per funder requirements, monitor the progress of projects and identify pivots in programs/projects as needed to ensure alignment with overarching CPI’s strategy and theory of change.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with CPI India leadership team to strengthen program management in CPI India’s engagement development and execution.
Enhance CPI’s equity and engagement with relevant stakeholders - Assist CPI India team to convene meetings with the stakeholders as per the funders' requirements in alignment with flagship programs such as The Lab, India Clean Energy Finance, Centre for Sustainable Finance, Just Transition Program and Green Finance Landscape.
Support CPI Program Management in leading discussions with the relevant ministries and select state governments on mainstreaming research and analytical work with relevant representation in ongoing initiatives and platforms
Support government policy working groups such as G20/Sustainable Finance working groups and share outputs with stakeholders for the given programs.
Work on developing and periodically revising the CPI’s capability statement and pitch decks and coordinate with global Communications.
Disseminate outputs to industry associations, research organizations, and other relevant stakeholders wherever required by program teams.
Prioritize CPI's presence and position where essential and engage with local media, academia, industry, and civil society.
Manage excellent working relations with the granters/funders for all CPI India projects and monitor grant utilization and resource allocation on internal workflow systems.
Manage the proposal pipeline and contract pipeline in the Fluxx - Grantseeker portal
Coordinate the preparation and execution of grant-specific reviews by working closely with Finance/ Operations teams and Program staff
Collaborate with the Finance team to manage cost allocations, internal controls and administrative systems
Design and implement robust M&E processes to ensure compliance with funder requirements
Streamlining institutional knowledge management systems
Support the administration of subgrant agreements including due diligence, financial oversight, and monitoring
Track and review project progress against deliverables and outputs and advance/reimbursement requests to donors along with project leads/managers
Manage the contract staff, office building management and other related office goods and services suppliers to be in order
Build processes for procurement and maintenance of IT hardware in conjunction with support consultants
Supervise logistical support to program and team-related and external events – in-person and virtual
Supervise the India operations team to ensure the overall office is running smooth.
Other tasks related to management of CPI India operations which could include employee engagement and training etc., and as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Great oral and written communication skills, solution-oriented, and should be able to keep up a fast pace while adapting to frequent change.
Position Details
CPI is hiring for Operations and Grants manager open immediately to be based in in Delhi, India. The CPI team is currently working in hybrid/flexible WFH mode with 2 days a week in office or as required in the post pandemic context and the successful candidate will be supported by Finance and Operations staff – global and in India to get set up logistically till full office conditions return. CPI offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation will be based on experience.
