Designation: Government Engagement Advisor
Arrangement: Part-time contract (2-3 days per month)

Location: India (Bangalore); Indonesia (Metro Jakarta); Kenya (Nairobi)

reach52 is seeking a part time Government Advisor, in each of India, Indonesia, and Kenya (separate roles). These roles are strongly aligned with its mission to build access to healthcare for 52% of the world, who currently cannot access it. You will work closely with Country Leads and VP, Partnerships in reach52 HQ. Central to this role, you will provide expertise in establishing formal partnerships with relevant government bodies and agencies. If relevant, you will also provide input on government partnership strategy in the country.
You should have strong experience developing health-focused projects with or within national and/or state/provincial/county-level government entities (such as Ministry of Health, etc.). Strong knowledge of publicly funded health systems is required. Extensive network of existing relevant contacts is a must.
What you’ll do
The core role scope and responsibilities of the role will be:
- Advise on existing country-level government engagement strategy and partnership materials
- 95% of role will consist of booking extensive meetings until you find the people in government who need what reach52 provides and can become our champion
- Build connections on behalf of reach52 with government stakeholders, and establish warm relationships between reach52 and the respective government body
- Establish formal MOUs and agreements with government bodies to promote the scale-up of reach52’s community services
- Manage relationships long-term to promote program continuity and continued growth
Who you are (probably!)
We’re reasonably sure you should have a profile like this, but we can flex sometimes:
- 10-15 years of related government experience in developing health-focused programs for rural populations
- Extensive network of contacts in relevant government positions
- Experience in a start-ups, healthcare or tech highly advantageous – this is a regulated, painful industry so domain knowledge really helps!
- High autonomy, entrepreneurial mindset. Ability to see the big picture and support on achieving the details
- Evidence of executing against growth and/or P&L targets in LMICs – we’re a social business, and money talks (and unit economics is king)
- A passion for healthcare access, innovation, and social impact – 52% of the world can’t access healthcare, our goal is to solve this.
- An agile, hardworking and growth mindset, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment – grow, pivot, grow…
- Robust analytical skills and an ability to process complex information to define clear direction and strategy – we love data-driven impact models
- Has their own reliable device and internet fit for proper work
- Love dynamism and an ever-changing set of challenges and projects to work on– we have a lot going on, but its working!
