SUMMARY:

Since October 2021, IWPR has been implementing the Go Viral Festival & Network project. The project's primary goal is to enhance regional connectivity, support economic development, and strengthen civil society in Central Asia by creating and sustaining deep partnerships among an emerging generation of innovative Central Asian thought leaders.

The Сountry Ambassador will be responsible for implementing a 1-year long project to build an active and engaged community related to business, media, culture, technology, or cross sectors. They will be responsible for initiating, organising and coordinating several activities in Kyrgyzstan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management:

  • Ensuring appropriate and effective communications with partner organizations, beneficiaries and IWPR CA staff and donor organization;

  • Work with partner organizations and IWPR staff in and out of the region to coordinate cross-border activities, meetings and training;

  • Work with other IWPR staff to maintain and improve the quality of all training, editorial and other project outputs;

  • Initiate, organize, conduct and coordinate project activities including network events, trainings, workshops and festivals;

  • Plan, create, and publish content for the goviral.kz website and Go Viral Social Media;

  • Set, plan, and implement communication campaigns and strategies, including but not limited to the community development strategy;

  • Produce the scheduled narrative reports for IWPR MEL specialists and the donor in line with their requirements.

Outreach:

  • Establish effective partnerships with partner organisations, businesses, experts and media in their home countries, inviting them to participate in project activities.
  • Facilitate dialogue between key national and regional actors, particularly civil society leaders and social media influencers in business, media, culture and technology sectors;
  • Promote Go Viral brand among potential network members, CSOs, public spaces and their own audience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Degree level education in social science or other relevant fields;
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in one of the four pillar sectors: business, media, culture or technology;
  • Experience in media development project management would be an asset;
  • Experience in financial management;
  • Ability to implement systems and procedures;
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities to very tight deadlines;
  • Strong command of written and oral Russian and Kyrgyz language, fluency in English and other CA countries language is desirable;
  • M&E technical skills;
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • People-management skills;
  • Ability to analyse and distil financial and narrative information;
  • Ability to establish and maintain contacts with representatives of government, think tanks, experts, CSOs, business, culture, technology and media outlets;
  • Ability to show initiative and creativity;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
