Do you want to work on an up-and-coming campaign that could become a game changer in our fight for climate and nature?
The Superheaters campaign is looking for a global project lead for 2023 to join several Greenpeace NROs (Greenpeace Aotearoa, Greenpeace Mexico, Greenpeace India, Greenpeace Brazil, Greenpeace Nordic) and Greenpeace International (GPI) to build, launch and scale up this campaign. This is a unique opportunity to profile methane and nitrous oxide as the potent “superheaters” gasses that can help humanity limit global warming with shorter-term effects, than carbon dioxide mitigation efforts.
The campaign aims to cut methane and nitrous oxide emissions by tackling the drivers and tackle the drivers of these emissions from agriculture (e.g livestock, nitrogen fertilizers especially). This will be achieved particularly by scandalizing the new “climate villains”, e.g fertilizers companies that have been generating profits behind the scenes at the expense of the climate, nature, and people. But also continuing toxifying animal factory farms in order to achieve legislation and reduction targets.
In this role, you will:
Together with the NROs and the core team, finalize the global campaign strategy which needs to be approved by the global campaign team at GPI (aka IPAC).
Expand the core team and ensure all roles needed to deliver a successful global project are filled. This includes recruiting of new hires or seconded positions in other departments or offices.
Lead by example as you collaborate within the global network: ensure the project has the momentum to deliver global impact, as well as the necessary support and governance for campaign success.
Set and refine global project objectives and impact monitoring, relevant to participating NROs’ theories of change. This includes iterating the campaign’s log frames, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and working with Monitoring & Evaluation experts within GPI.
Integrate all relevant strategic components: political strategy, communications, engagement, corporate, political, actions, science, legal, investigations and fundraising.
Run audience research in the relevant countries to inform the campaign and comms/engagement strategy
Create and manage a global budget and resource plan that pools and manages NRO resources, GPI enabling funds and outside foundation funds.
Ensure all relevant collaborators are in the loop on the project.
Enable effective continuous evaluation and learning.
Day-to-day management of the project, including functional management of project team members (task-giving to team members, decision on project priorities, implementation of work plans etc.).
Manage the project budget.
