Greenpeace International (GPI) is looking for a Global Project Lead – Capital Campaign to plan, deliver and drive an ambitious campaign that is key to our global growth strategy, with a focus on major gifts fundraising.
Our Capital Campaign is a complex, collaborative initiative involving multiple National/Regional Organisations (NROs) and departments within the Greenpeace network. A key objective is to strengthen our major gift fundraising capabilities and capacity. Reporting to the Global Growth Committee lead and working closely with the leadership team of the New Ship project, you will lead the delivery of the campaign to drive elements of the work forward and ensure the fundraising and developmental targets are met.
In this role you will:
Define, manage and drive all aspects of the live phase of the Capital Campaign, initially with a focus on what’s required within the first year, whilst laying the foundations for subsequent years.
Draw up and manage a budget and make budget requests where new resources are required over time.
Craft a successful management structure for the work, involving colleagues in GPI, the fundraising community and external consultants/agencies where needed.
Define objectives and produce plans for all key elements of delivery, including: financial elements; asset development; NRO capability and capacity development; donor advisor board; donor proposals.
Ensure all these work areas, and others, deliver what’s required on time and to budget.
Work closely with the New Ship project team to ensure alignment and positive co-working.
Ensure excellent communications across all stakeholder groups, to sustain enthusiasm and engagement.
Prepare and present reports against targets to key groups, including the Global Growth Committee.
Line manage a project manager who will support the coordination elements of the live phase.

What we’re looking for:
Proven success in major gifts and/or foundations fundraising for advocacy related issues.
Experience in personally soliciting large gifts and working with senior management, board members and programme staff.
A track record of planning, delivering and evaluating ambitious campaigns or projects (ideally global capital campaigns), with substantial experience at senior level.
Excellent relationship and team building skills.
The self-motivation, proactive approach and critical thinking to drive a project to success.
Experience working with and managing external sites and/or managing vendors.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in an international and multicultural environment.
Ability to set priorities, travel internationally and work within deadlines.
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
Willingness to work outside normal working hours if required, due to the international nature of the role.
