Program/Department Overview
EDF’s Economics & Global Climate Cooperation (EGCC) team works to advance policies that make market forces work for - rather than against - the environment. We work closely with all of EDF’s programs to ensure our work is based on sound economics and policy design. Through research and analysis, we work to strengthen economics throughout EDF, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and interact with policymakers and other stakeholders to build support for economically sound environmental policies. We coordinate closely with strategic initiatives across EDF to ensure cohesive advocacy and communications at climate COPs and other international fora.
Overall Function
The Global Climate Economics & Policy Intern will support EDF’s work around carbon markets, particularly the voluntary carbon market. The Intern will provide analytical and operational support to ongoing projects, including the formation of EDF’s strategic goals and EDF’s participation in external initiatives related to carbon markets. The Intern will produce quantitative analysis and written outputs for both internal and external audiences.

Compensation
This internship would involve either compensation for work paid at a rate competitive with leading non-profits at $17-$20/hr or academic credit. Students are encouraged to seek academic credit or funding through their college/university and EDF will ensure that any and all paperwork needed to secure academic credit is completed.
