About the Program:
The NDC Partnership brings together 120 countries, developed and developing, and 86 institutional members to create and deliver ambitious NDCs that help achieve the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Governments identify their NDC implementation priorities and the type of support that is needed to translate them into actionable policies and programs. Based on these requests, the membership offers a tailored package of expertise, technical assistance, and funding. This collaborative response provides developing countries with efficient access to a wide range of resources to adapt to and mitigate climate change and foster more equitable and sustainable development. The NDC Partnership is built on the premise of collective action: by acting together, we achieve more.
This position is fully remote.
What you will do:
This intern will play an integral role in the data and analyses components of two cross-cutting areas of the NDC Partnership - gender mainstreaming and youth engagement. Under its 2019 Gender Strategy, the NDC Partnership commits to mainstreaming gender equality into NDCs and the climate action that members support. To facilitate this, the NDC Partnership will assist member country to access the gender-related knowledge resources and capacity building support of the Partnership’s implementing and development partners. In 2020, the NDC Partnership’s Steering Committee established a Youth Task Force to guide a youth-led process in developing a Youth Engagement Plan (YEP) for the Partnership’s members. The YEP highlights key actions areas designed to strengthen youth engagement in NDC action. The intern will support these two areas of work and improve the existing information resources that enable the NDC Partnership’s support to countries in a coordinated and effective manner.
