GBV Outreach Coordinator - Helpline

🇵🇬 Port Moresby, PG 📝 FULL-TIME

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the GBV Outreach Coordinator - 1-Tok Kaunselin Helpim Lain, you will work directly with the 1-Tok Helpline team and key stakeholders in order to strengthen outreach activities and support coordination of helpline services and awareness raising initiatives. You will be working to support increasing access of survivors of Gender-Based Violence to the 1-Tok helpline and other available services. You will support strengthening the capacity of key partners to ensure quality GBV response and referrals.

KEY DUTIES

  • Provide technical support to key partners to support quality GBV responses and referrals to the helpline. Including the delivery of trainings to the key GBV response personnel.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with local communities, NGOs, Government and Civil Society and develop alliances with those providing GBV support working in the field to enhance coordination with helpline.
  • Plan and lead community-based activities (outreach activities, including capacity strengthening, and program planning development in the field.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to build the helpline and CFPNG visibility and acceptance within local communities to facilitate project implementation, including informing the wider community actors about the helpline and GBV programs, as well as with relevant CFPNG staff to ensure programmatic synergies.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with helpline counselling team to ensure the quality of service provision and provide feedback from community on helpline services.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and generate monitoring report on the qualitative and quantitative progress of program and coordinate collection of feedback on helpline services.
  • Monitor the implementation process to ensure the achievement of project deliverables in terms of cost, time and quality.
  • Develop workplans and support monitoring and evaluation tasks including report compilation.
  • Ensure all activities are gender sensitive and follow Gender Policy; Apply Do No Harm standards to ensure activities do not have detrimental effects on vulnerable communities.
  • Ensure compliance with CF policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or other relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in GBV sector.
  • Experience in direct provision of support for survivors of gender-based violence.
  • Understands and applies survivor-centred approach.
  • Strong understanding of Gender-based violence and Child protection and contemporary practices.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in working with NGOs in cross-cultural setting.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Strong understanding of GBV and CP sector in Papua New Guinea and key stakeholders in these sectors.

Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.
