The Near East Foundation (NEF) is offering paid (college credit also available) internships through its US Headquarters office downtown Syracuse, NY. The internship will begin as soon as possible and run through the end of the Fall semester, with potential for extension.
Our internships are in-person and require 10 hours per week (up to a maximum of 15 hours) at NEF's office in downtown Syracuse, NY. The schedule is flexible between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday, based on the student’s academic commitments.
Undergraduate Hourly Rate: $18
Graduate Hourly Rate: $20

Fundraising Intern
The Near East Foundation is looking for a fundraising intern for the Fall 2024 - 2025 Academic term, with potential for extension. This opportunity will provide a qualified applicant with a unique opportunity to learn more about international economic development and specifically nonprofit fundraising best practices and prospect research. The fundraising intern will work directly with NEF’s Major Gifts Manager with opportunities to collaborate with the Philanthropy Officer, and communications and programs team.
The selected intern is a graduate or undergraduate student in a related field with an excellent academic record. They will be responsible for: (1) researching a pipeline of prospective grant and partnership opportunities and supporting on grant applications as needed, (2) researching prospective individual donors; (3) developing creative community outreach opportunities to grow our networks (4) working within NEF’s donor database (salesforce) to manage and maintain donor records; (5) and assisting with mailing and distribution of print and online communications materials as needed.
The right applicant will be detail-oriented, organized, curious and creative. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and passionate about supporting the communities we serve. Knowledge of the international development sector or previous fundraising experience is a plus.
