Third Generation Environmentalism is hiring a
FUNDRAISING AND RELATIONSHIPS MANAGER (UK, US), OPERATIONS, LONDON OR WASHINGTON DC
E3G is looking for a motivated and collaborative individual to join us as a Fundraising and Relationships Manager. This exciting new role will directly support senior leadership and staff to enhance E3G’s external and internal fundraising capabilities.
Background
E3G is an independent climate change think tank with a global outlook. We are world leading strategists on the political economy of climate change, dedicated to achieving a safe climate for all.
We work on the frontier of the climate landscape tackling the barriers and advancing the solutions to a safe climate. Our goal is to translate climate politics, economics, and policies into action.
E3G has recently undergone an exciting internal transformation, significantly growing in size and capabilities in recent years. In this context, we are now looking to build out our fundraising capabilities, with the addition of a dedicated Fundraising and Relationships Manager.
Externally, the landscape of philanthropic and government funding for climate action has grown in scale and complexity in recent years. We are therefore looking for a Fundraising and Relationships Manager to lead the development and delivery of our fundraising strategy, to enable E3G to better navigate this landscape and help represent the organisation in developing relationships with priority funders.
The Fundraising and Relationships Manager will report to the co-CEOs with support from the Chief of Staff. They will work closely with the Executive and Senior Management Teams. The role will be uniquely central to the day-to-day running of the organisation, with access to both senior leadership and all staff functions.
The Fundraising and Relationships Manager will also work closely with other priority teams including the Programme Management Office (PMO), Programme Leadership Team (PLT), and our Communications and Operations teams, to support E3G’s core fundraising and relationship management needs.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEOs with support from the Chief of Staff, working closely with the Executive and Senior Management Teams, the Fundraising and Relationships Manager will own E3G’s fundraising strategy and delivery.
Enhance E3G’s positive working relationships with existing priority funders, acting as a focal point of contact for all of E3G and a key supporter of funder relations for senior leadership in particular.
Develop new funding opportunities and relationships with target funders as set out in E3G’s fundraising strategy.
Lead a regular E3G fundraising strategy review process, working with the Executive team, Senior Management Team (SMT), and Programme Leadership Team (PLT).
Lead on the grant writing and management for E3G’s largest grants, working with the PMO, SMT, and PLT.
Lead a regular internal learning and development offer for all E3G staff on fundraising and grant writing best practice.
Work closely with the Executive and Operations teams to ensure the timely delivery and continuous assessment of E3G’s core fundraising needs, including working with the finance and PMO teams.
