GVI has an exciting opportunity for a Fullstack Developer to join our development team as we embark on our next stage of growth. Our development team forms part of our in-house marketing department - a group of highly talented, passionate individuals who are globally distributed, but connected through purpose.

The goal of the Fullstack Developer is to build and develop websites, and ensure that our online technology runs efficiently, allowing us to achieve our business specified goals. Websites are built with best practices & maintenance in mind. Furthermore they are built on fit-for-purpose technology. This role will work across allĀ  brands within the GVI Group including but not limited to GVI People, GVI Planet and Bushwise.

šŸ’» Skills & Tasks

  • Write clean code for front and back end development.
  • Review peer code work for accuracy, functionality, efficiency & where necessary suggest alternative approaches.
  • Test and maintain integration with 3rd party platforms to ensure site stability and lead efficacy.
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates, senior management, designers, and other project stakeholders to achieve client goals.
  • Ensure all projects are completed with mobile and tablet in mind.
  • Work closely with the SEO Specialist to ensure all code is developed with SEO best practices in mind.
  • Implement accessibility requirements wherever possible & as required.
  • Respond to website issues & alertsĀ  in a timely manner.
  • Monitor website speed, and consistently implement improvements.
  • Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website user experience and user interface.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and providing root cause analysis where required.
  • Monitor technology related updates ensuring no update negatively impacts our sites.

⭐ Requirements for the role

  • You have at least 3-5 years experience working with PHP Wordpress CMS / Builder.io / Firebase / any headless CMS

  • Must have strong knowledge and working experience in Javascript / ReactJS / Typescript / ES6

  • Must have knowledge of CSS3, AJAX, XML, Sass

  • Understanding programming methodologies - SOLID / DRY / KISS / OOP / MVC

  • Proficient in working with GIT repo & Git-flow process

  • Understand the Wordpress platform, hooks, custom plugins and page builders

  • Understanding of APIs using REST, Webhooks & SOAP

  • A strong UX understanding, coupled with skills consummate with achieving a near pixel perfect implementation.

  • Understand the dynamics of working a continuous integration & continuous deployment environment.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce /Ā  Hubspot is highly advantageous

  • The ability to simplify solutions, concepts to laymans' terms

  • A proven track record of delivering quality web sites timeously

  • Experience in building integrated systems that use different technologies and platforms

  • Be able to mentor, evaluate, and impart knowledge to team members

  • Ability to influence, persuade & drive client specs
