Foundation Relations Intern

**This is a hybrid internship based in the WRI Europe office in the Hague. You will need to be registered at a Dutch university or college for the full duration of the internship to be eligible.

About the program:**

WRI is a fast-paced and growing organization, with experts and staff around the world. As we grow our programs and impact throughout our global network, we are enhancing our global fundraising capacity to resource our ambitious strategies.

The Global Development Department (GDD) supports WRI programs and international offices with fundraising. The GDD is organized into four teams grouped by fundraising sector: corporate, government, foundation, and individual philanthropy.

This position will work closely with the Foundation Relations team. This is a central role in WRI’s GDD and offers a valuable opportunity to learn about fundraising strategy, donor cultivation and stewardship in a growing organization. The position requires good coordination and administrative skills, familiarity with or a strong interest in working with industry standard knowledge/customer relations management tools, ability to juggle numerous priorities, and an interest in learning about fundraising in a global context.

Your internship supervisor will be the Director of European Foundations.

What you will do:

K****nowledge management systems (70% time)

• Develop funding history briefs for our top 30-35 funders, based on the data in Salesforce
• Update foundation records in WRI’s constituent relationship management database (Salesforce) including contact details, key foundation data, and tracking of key opportunities, activities, and engagement
• Contribute to funder prospecting for specific WRI strategic priorities.

Internal communications (30 % time)

• Provide administrative support (scheduling, agenda, note-taking, follow up on actions) for Foundation Relations teams, especially our regular check-ins on fundraising with our several International Offices and Programs.

What you will need:

• You are currently pursuing a degree or diploma in marketing, sales, business administration or related field
• Interns at WRI Europe must be registered in a study program with a Dutch college or university for the full duration of the internship
• You have a demonstrated interest in working with fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship
• You are interested in building practical experience in using relationship management data systems and tools
• You have some experience (gained in a professional or academic capacity) with synthesising information, notetaking, meeting coordination and data management
• You are proficient in written and spoken English. Other language skills desirable.

Conditions of the internship:

• This is a 4-month, part-time (20 hours per week) internship per week, with a start date of 13 March 2023
• This internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in the Hague with some flexibility to work from home.
• This internship offers a reimbursement of 350 euros per month based on full-time working hours (32 hours).
• Interns can request a laptop if they require one.
