Greenpeace International is hiring a
Food and Forest Campaign Internship / Fixed term for 6 months / Full Time (40 hours per week)
Location: Based in the Netherlands. Candidates should be already living in the Netherlands and have a Dutch social security number (BSN). We encourage applications from applicants from various backgrounds.

The Food and Forest team at Greenpeace International is seeking an Intern to join the team!
This full-time Internship is for 6 months, with a hybrid model of remote work and working from the Amsterdam office. The proposed starting date is May 2023.
You should have the ability to learn quickly, be flexible and be able to work outside of your comfort zone. Strong research, content creation and communication skills are a must.
You will be working within a distributed team of experienced and dedicated Campaigners and will have a unique chance to learn about the functioning of an international campaigning organisation, to be exposed to and to participate in conversations around campaign planning, and will gain deep knowledge of environmental problems and solutions and experience teamwork at a global level.
Role outline:
You will work with the Forest & Food campaign team, and report to the Global Campaign Lead or designated task lead. You will support key areas of research or innovative communication to help in the development of global food and forest projects.
Your task could include research on areas like destructive nature financing, greenwashing or preparing innovative communication assets, or supporting preparations for multilateral events. Additionally, you will provide support with communicating the campaign to an external audience, through the use of new, innovative and responsive visual, digital and media content and archived library content relating to campaigns. There will also be opportunities to support other projects as agreed with the successful candidate.
What we’re looking for:
Knowledge of/ experience in the area of biodiversity or forest or innovative communication with Gen Z
Proficient in written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage
IT proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google mail and related applications, Zoom, Asana, emerging productivity tools, etc.
Research experience
Multicultural competence and understanding of and commitment to diversity
‘Can do’, flexible approach, friendly and people-focused, even when working in a fast moving, sometimes chaotic environment
Ability to learn quickly and experiment
Comfortable with working remotely
Proactive, attention to detail
Efficient in producing clear meeting notes in English
Identification with Greenpeace goals and values
Interested in applying new technologies to forests work including leveraging social networks, evaluating smartphone apps and AI tools

The fine print:
An Internship is intended for students or recent graduates who have completed their studies within the last twelve months.
Interns are entitled to 800 euros net as a monthly stipend (40 hours per week).
The Greenpeace International office in Amsterdam is open and available for working. A combination of remote (within the Netherlands) and from the office work is possible and is the most common way of working.
If not otherwise present at the office, the candidate should be able to commute into our Amsterdam office when invited to do so for specific meetings or events. Travel outside of Amsterdam may also occasionally be requested, for which necessary costs will be covered.
