Flying Labs Network Community Coordinator

WeRobotics is a social impact organization that amplifies the power of local expertise to multiply sustainable solutions for humanitarian aid, climate, and development driven by local actors and supported by appropriate drone, data, and AI technologies. WeRobotics supports and connects local experts in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia/Pacific with a platform, skills, frameworks, technologies, and opportunities to lead and contribute to local solutions for climate action, disaster, agriculture, STEM/Youth, entrepreneurship, and more. This platform is the Flying Labs Network, currently active in 35+ countries. WeRobotics also provides global connections for the members of the Flying Labs Network and its ecosystem partners, to facilitate connections, collaboration, learning, and knowledge sharing between local experts, global organizations, and industries. By doing so, our organization is co-creating a proven and replicable model to successfully localize and shift power at a grassroots level.

We are looking for a full-time Community Coordinator for the Flying Labs Network who is ideally from and based in a country that aligns with the geographies of the Network (Latin America, Caribbean, Africa, Asia-Pacific).

Location:   Remote

Start date: Immediately

Duration:  12 months  (contract renewal depending on funding and work performance)

Requirements:

  • Has a minimum of 2 years working experience in a community/network coordination and/or project/program management role;
  • Has experience working with a non-profit or social impact organization;
  • Is bilingual, with written and oral proficiency in both English and French;
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills in a cross-cultural environment;
  • Is proficient in using online collaboration tools such as GSuite, Slack, and Monday board, as well as experienced in database software;
  • Is highly organized, proactive, takes initiative, and has an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Loves working with people from diverse places and cultures;
  • Is equipped to work remotely (stable internet and working computer) with minimal supervision.

The Community Coordinator will be part of WeRobotics’ Community Coordination Team and will work closely with all other WeRobotics’ teams as well as with Flying Labs of various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

General Flying Labs Network coordination and support:

  • Manage replies and transfer of opportunities to Flying Labs
  • Support the creation and sharing of the newsletter to the Flying Labs Network, and specific regional newsletters and communications
  • Answer Flying Labs inquiries, for example where to find specific resources
  • Support in the onboarding and offboarding of Flying Labs
  • Help organize Flying Labs retreats (virtual and in-person)
  • Support the creation of reports

Regional Flying Labs Network coordination and support. Directly coordinate and support 1-3 Flying Labs regions:

  • Manage all administrative aspects of the designated regions (including license renewals, on- and off-boarding of new members, update of website pages, etc.)
  • Onboard and offboard Flying Labs of the designated regions, with the support of colleagues of the Coordination team
  • Lead regular check-in calls with Flying Labs
  • Organize and facilitate regional calls
  • Co-lead and plan regional retreats

Network-wide knowledge sharing and collaboration:

  • Manage the publishing of Flying Labs use cases
  • Update content on the internal knowledge-sharing platform
  • Follow-up with Flying Labs to ensure documentation of their key activities

Translation Project (ongoing):

  • Support the implementation of tools, resources and workflows for translation of knowledge-base resources
  • Support the impact evaluation of the translation project
  • Evolve the approach and tools based on learnings made through the impact evaluation

Other activities:

  • Potential other activities and/or projects in line with the coordinator’s skills and motivations
