FINANCIAL CONTROLLER, OPERATIONS, LONDON
Founded in 2004, E3G are world leading strategists on the political economy of climate change, dedicated to achieving a safe climate for all. Our goal is to translate climate politics, economics and policies into action.
E3G currently has offices in London, Brussels, Berlin and Washington DC. Some European travel may be required.
About the role
Reporting to E3G CFO, this role is to be the financial controller across all the 5 entities, planning, reporting, forecasting and controls both at each country level and consolidated as well as the provision of key accounting functions. E3G is a not for profit organisation and this role is one of two manager roles in the finance function the other being focused on supporting our programmes.
The key responsibilities
Managing payroll services, Accounts Payable & staff expenses across E3G.
Bank & cash management.
Statutory reporting & tax, returns and audits including VAT, HMRC & PAYE.
Liaising with our staff and external advisors in the other offices to ensure E3G compliance with accounting regulations and law.
Consolidated entity management accounting.
Management of intercompany charging.
Managing month end processes and control account reconciliations.
Management of two staff.
Deputising for CFO at senior management and board if necessary.
Person requirements
Qualified accountant with a minimum of three years post qualification experience.
Experience of Consolidated Group Accounts is essential
Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills are essential with the ability to work competently with minimum supervision.
A strong desire to work for a climate change, not for profit organisation is essential. Experience in similar organisations is desirable but not essential.
Solid organisational skills and good attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with finance and non-finance staff.
Ability to work independently and take control of tasks.
Success in managing and developing a team.

This role is based in E3G’s London office. E3G offers flexible working arrangements and operates a hybrid working approach. We are open to exploring optimal working arrangements with the successful candidate.
E3G will require candidates to demonstrate that they have the right to live and work in the jurisdiction in which E3G employs them. E3G is unable to provide relocation assistance or visa support.
A remuneration package competitive with the non-profit sector will be offered. Salary is up to £60,000 per annum depending on experience and is reviewed annually in December. Benefits include 25 days of paid leave plus additional leave between Christmas and new year; travel and hospitalisation insurance; generous pension contribution.
