Hours:        28 hours per week

Position within Hivos

The Financial administrator is a member of the Finance Team at our Global Office (GO) in The Hague. You will be part of a team of 4 co-workers that report to the Finance Team Lead. There is daily contact with the colleagues from the Global Office departments and also with our colleagues in the countries where we are working.

Objective of the job

To process purchase invoices, international payments in an efficient way. Monitoring balance sheet accounts and checking & answering questions from the general finance email boxes.

Your responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions in the administration in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  • Process all incoming invoices, ensure the correct coding and prepare payments, including international payments via banks and Stonex.
  • Process all bank transactions in the administration in a timely manner and ensure the creditor administration stays up to date.
  • Monitor a number of suspense accounts (specifications and clearing).
  • Support with project audit samples and the Global Hivos audit.

Your profile

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in a Dutch administration
  • Financial administration MBO level 3 or 4
  • Valid working permit for the Netherlands is required
  • Good Excel skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Good communication and advisory skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

What we offer

A contract for 28 hours per week (part time at 77,78%) will be offered with a gross salary between € 2.321,43 and € 3.351,80 per month based on full-time employment at 36 hours per week. We’ll take care of a laptop, travel expenses according to our commuting policies, and participation in a pension fund. Hivos additionally works according to a 50/50 schedule, which means you are able to work from home 50% of your contract hours.
