Drawing on three decades of experience in some of the world’s most challenging environments, we support media, civil society, democracy and governance, gender, and youth-focused projects in over 30 countries – promoting reliable information and responsible public debate and removing barriers to freedom of expression.
The Role:
The Finance and Administration Assistant will assist in the administrative management of the Manila office; and in project bookkeeping, field financial transaction recording and reconciliation, sub-award compliance, financial oversight, and reporting to partner donors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrates strong understanding and skill in General and Financial Accounting;
Demonstrates ability to manage financial aspects of small- to large-scale grants, both in local and international settings;
In-depth knowledge of and proven ability to work with various donor financial regulations while maintaining compliance to IWPR policy;
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates ability to work in an inter-country team environment;
Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner;
Highly organised and is capable to work independently and take initiative;
Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind;
Fluency in English;
Willingness to travel to Philippine provinces and internationally when necessary;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially in Excel;
Knowledge in QuickBooks and any new Accounting software is an advantage.
