C- Quest Capital LLC (CQC) is a clean energy project developer whose mission is to transform the lives of the rural poor in developing countries by providing them access to clean and sustainable energy services, clean energy technologies, and improving health and well-being of women and children. CQC was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Washington D.C., U.S.A. with subsidiaries in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia, with on the ground teams in Malawi, Zambia and rapidly growing into other Sub-Saharan Africa countries. Our projects are closely managed by the CQC Operations Team and by establishing relationships with people and organizations based in-country called Implementing Partners (IPs), whose development goals closely align with the work we are doing at scale and are already working at the village level.
Background:
CQC is rapidly expanding their impact to provide cleaner cooking services across core geographies and there is a need to expand reliable, skilled, part-time supervisory staff to assist where we already have active stove programs including, Angola. IPs build improved cookstoves made from local materials and hold trainings on how to build these stoves and educate the rural poor which provides them access to clean cooking technology and builds capacity. After IPs are required to return to the households where the stoves have been built to register them on a phone survey and upload them to an online database. There is a need for a Finance and Admin Manager in Angola to assist the Country Manager and Country Director in Luanda in the implementation of the Improved Cookstoves project. Through communication, transparency and training, the Finance and Admin Manager will collaborate, so we are able to manage in country teams and implementing partners and improve the lives of those in the greatest need.
Core Tasks: Under the guidance of the Angola Country Manager and Country Director, and supervision of the US-based Operations Team, the Finance and Admin Manager will support the Improved Cookstoves Project Implementation and will be in contact with various Implementation Partners.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of audit reports and one-page briefs.
Contribute to preparation of budgets to CQC’s country activities.
Record all payments in coordination with local Accountant.
Provide project specific administrative support as required.
Liaise with Implementing partners in the undertaking of the project activities.
Support CQC Angola staff in collaboration with CQC US and CSAT teams.
Work with CQC US team and CSAT to redesign questionnaires as needed.
Translate documents from English to Portuguese and vice versa.
Participate in field activities as a translator as needed.
Facilitate training and on-going performance-based training to continuously improve skills of Field Coordinators/Spot Auditors.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of these teams with guidance and support from the Angola Country Director and Country Manager.
Manage personal travel logistics and reporting requirements and seek pre-approval of costs from
CQC.
Human resources administration in CQC Angola, liaising with HR teams in USA.
Identify, network and pre-screen candidates as needed for roles identified by CQC Angola.
Additional objectives as tasked by Angola Country Director.
Skills and experience required:
University degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience in Accountancy and or Administration
Good working proficiency in Portuguese and English.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent IT skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Familiar with / able to communicate through WhatsApp with Operations Team as needed basis.
Must have Angolan citizenship.
Location: Luanda, Angola.
Travel: Frequent travel is required.
