Location: Remote, Georgia

This position will require in-state travel and approximately 2 evenings per week and periodic weekends.

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 and commensurate with experience

Field Coordinator Overview

The GA Field Coordinator will work as an integral member of the Outreach Team to facilitate the base building (organizing, recruitment and engagement), leadership development, and participation of GeorgiaCAN members. This position emphasizes outreach, and relationship building that results in member and core leader recruitment; facilitating the engagement of new/existing parents; implementing organizing strategies and tactics. The position is Georgia-based and will report directly to the State Outreach Director.

Field Coordinator Key Responsibilities

Community Building:

  • Develop and carry-out one on one parent outreach and recruitment strategies to ensure that GeorgiaCAN’s membership reflects GeorgiaCAN’s priorities.
  • Recruit parents from the base to attend GeorgiaCAN’s community meetings.
  • Create and develop communication materials and strategies to engage GeorgiaCAN membership.
  • Coordinate and conduct community outreach which could include community canvassing or phone outreach to engage current GeorgiaCAN membership
  • Build and maintain relationships with GeorgiaCAN membership - primarily focusing on parents and community members

Leadership Development:

  • Maintain and sustain Georgia’s membership database.
  • Build GeorgiaCAN members’ understanding of educational issues and policies.
  • Create and conduct workshops, meetings, trainings and strategy sessions with GeorgiaCAN membership.
  • Identify and recruit core members to grow GeorgiaCAN’s membership pipeline.
  • Support and train GeorgiaCAN’s membership to actively participate in organizational and coalition activities.

Coalition Building:

  • Represent GeorgiaCAN as needed at collaborative, coalition, and community meetings

Field Coordinator Skills/Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience successfully building relationships in a role such as a community/parent/adult organizer (internship or campus-based experience inclusive)
  • Achieved tangible successes based on organizational goals and/or priorities
  • The ability to work as a team and foster collaboration with colleagues
  • Proficiency in facilitating workshops and trainings.

Preferred:

  • A strong passion to advocate for student centric educational changes
  • Proficiency in writing styles necessary to communicate professionally.

Work conditions:

  • This position will operate in a remote environment
  • Willingness and ability to work an average of 2 evenings per week and periodic weekends.
