About the Job:
Serving as a part of the Western Suburbs Family Support team, this position provides direct supervision to the Family Support and Doula teams to meet program goals. This position supports the agency's vision, philosophy and values in the comprehensive delivery of services to young moms and their children through family support programs and activities. This position is focused on ensuring high quality implementation of home visiting practices and meets both Parents as Teachers fidelity and doula best practices. The Family Support Manager will champion all New Moms values including our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, in both strategic planning and performance. This position is located at our Oak Park location. Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $67,000 DOQ
Key Job Responsibilities:
Home Visiting Manager
- Supervises Family Support Coaches and Doulas to ensure all Parents as Teachers’ guidelines, external funders and internal benchmarks and goals are met in the family support program, and that all staff are at case load
- Responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of a diverse team
- Provides executive skills reflective supervision with direct reports and provide coaching to help staff grow as professionals and excel in their role
- Support staff in providing mental health case management and/or crisis response to participants experiencing emotional distress or mental health symptoms
- Supports overall outcomes and impact by strengthening coaches’ work with participants reviewing and analyzing data from digital coaching tools, including by not limited to New Moms’ app, survey platforms, resource hubs, etc.
- Provides coverage for staff who are absent or assigns to others when necessary
- Works with the Director of Family Support and Senior Director of Performance Management on data quality
- Works with supervisor to develop, implement and track progress on programmatic plans and implementation
- Oversees the administration of the essentials and boutique incentive program for direct reports
- Ensures staff compliance with internal and external funder databases, checking monthly reports for accuracy and completion
- Maintains PAT Certification, as required; New Moms will provide initial if not previously obtained
- Responsible for budget implementation and adherence
- Assists as needed with outreach as needed to ensure program capacity is at benchmark
Parent Support Group
- Ensures that parent support and prenatal groups are promoted to and attended by all participants able to join by coaches and doulas at enrollment and ongoing
- Collaborates with Parent Education Manager regarding attendance, reminders and other support for participant participation in groups
- Acts as a backup facilitator for parent support and prenatal groups
Organizational Leadership
- Upholds the New Moms’ Executive Skills Coaching approach which is grounded in racial equity
- ·Regularly participates in agency and program staff meetings, as well as professional group seminars or conferences to enhance professional knowledge and job skills
- Committed to developing further as a leader by participating in the New Moms professional development model, demonstrating achievement in competencies defined by the agency
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in the use of a company credit card; Employee must secure the card at all times, assure all expense are budgeted, pre-approved, and reconciled monthly
- Responsible for all company communication, ensuring that Slack, Email or other communications are tended to daily; Provides timely responses or takes action, especially regarding time sensitive information

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, social work, or related field required; Master’s degree in related field preferred
Experience:
- Experience working with doula programs
- More than three (3) years of experience supervising staff, volunteers, or interns
- More than three (3) years of related home visiting and/or group non-profit experience required
Skills/Traits:
- Strong track record in managing a comprehensive and complex array of projects with intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and a results-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and in writing
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft software applications
Other requirements:
- Valid driver’s license, with safe driving record and valid insurance; Daily access to a reliable car required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of program; Ability to provide support to staff who are on-call in evening and weekends and acts as the back-up for on-call doula if necessary
- Must obtain Parents as Teachers training in first 3-months of employment and maintain PAT certification
- Must attend 3-day DONA training in the first 3-months of employment or provide proof of previous certification
Work Environment: Individual must be able to stand and sit up to eight (8) hours at a time; be able to walk up and down stairs and be able to lift/move items up to 30-40 pounds or be able to perform these tasks with reasonable accommodations. The noise level and temperature in the environment may vary.
