Position Summary
The Family Support Coach provides home and community-based services to young moms using the evidence-based Parents as Teachers model. This role includes parent coaching, case management, and group programming. The coach works closely with Doulas and other team members to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support to families in Oak Park and surrounding western suburbs.

Location: Oak Park, IL with travel to surrounding western suburbs

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Starting Salary: $48,00 - $50,000

What a Day Might Look Like

  • Driving to a participant's home to lead a parent-child activity that supports early childhood development
  • Meeting with a mom experiencing postpartum stress, helping her set personal goals and access mental health support
  • Collaborating with Doulas and internal staff to coordinate wraparound services
  • Logging visit notes and service plans in our database
  • Hosting or supporting a weekly parenting group in the evening
  • Responding to participant messages through our coaching app and communication platforms
  • Connecting with a local partner organization to advocate for a participant’s housing needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regular in-home visits using evidence-based curriculum
  • Coach and support families in parenting, goal setting, and mental wellness
  • Develop service plans using assessment tools and participant input
  • Link families with resources and advocate on their behalf
  • Encourage participation in weekly parent support groups
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation
  • Contribute to team learning and support program compliance

Qualifications

Education (one of the following required):

  • Bachelor’s in social work, psychology, counseling, or similar field
  • OR Bachelor’s in other field + 2 years clinical/human service experience
  • OR High school diploma + 5 years clinical or human service experience

Plus:

  • At least 1 year experience in a similar role preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, daily access to a car, and insurance required
  • Comfort using digital tools and case management software
  • Ability to work one evening per week; occasional weekends
  • Fluent in Spanish encouraged to apply

Work Environment: Must be able to sit/stand for up to 8 hours, walk stairs, and lift up to 30–40 lbs (or perform with reasonable accommodation). Work environments may vary.
