Overview

The Forward Trust Personal Wellbeing Services deliver a range of interventions within Probation services across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Surrey, Sussex, Lincolnshire, Kent and Cheshire. Delivering a range of services under the following categories: Family & Significant Others, Lifestyle and Associates, Emotional Wellbeing and Social Inclusion as a fully integrated, holistic, single service. Supporting the wide range of needs that Service Users experience in relations to relationships and interactions with family, friends and others. Supporting clients to engage in a variety of activities to enhance their Well-Being. We will be providing a flexible, responsive service, delivering a holistic and cohesive set of interventions that are easily accessible to this client group.

We believe and are committed to providing opportunities to all people including those with ‘Lived Experience’ we encourage applications from all background including those in recovery from addiction, co-dependency or gambling, have experience of previous offending or homelessness.

What you will be doing?

The Family Connections Strategy aims to include both clients and their families as part of Forward’s treatment programmes; ensuring that there are separate and distinct pathways for each, which will naturally merge and overlap, enabling us to utilise the joint involvement of family members and Concerned Significant Others (CSOs) where appropriate and feasible.

To ensure a successful family work framework across the organisation we look to understand the level of need and implement a range of appropriate interventions for families and CSOs both in prison and the community.

Main duties will include:

  • Deliver a range of Connections Work Interventions in your custodial or community setting
  • Establish a robust referral pathway for clients and their families
  • Act as point of contact and information for all relationship/family-related support needs in a service
  • Work with partner agencies and 3rd party organisations to achieve robust outcomes for clients
  • Record and submit quarterly intervention data
  • Engage with training and CPD
  • Deliver training/information/advice and guidance to colleagues in relation to family work and family-related support.
  • Work with the Connections Coordinator to develop resources and inform the Family Work Strategy

What we are looking for?

  • Experience of providing support to families and providing help for family-related issues that may affect clients in prison and community services
  • Previous experience of developing and implementing service improvements
  • An understanding of a range of treatment approaches in the field of substance misuse, including the 12 step model.
  • A thorough understanding of Service User led support groups and their role in maintaining ongoing recovery
  • Possession of a Recognised Counselling Qualification, or ongoing attendance on a Recognised counselling course
  • Family work qualification
  • Can work in fast paced changing environments.
  • Has confidence in own abilities and good eye for detail
