Position Title: Fall Intern, Development

Hours: 20 hours workweek (hourly)
Location: Washington, DC preferred/remote possible
Hourly Rate: $25 per hour
Term: September 19, 2022 – December 16, 2022 (3 months)
Why Intern with CEBA? As an intern, you will gain professional skills and experience in a non-profit business association while working alongside our world-class team. You will have a bird’s-eye view of how system change can be accomplished and will grow to understand the daily tasks and activities that will get us there.
Interns specifically working with the programmatic teams learn about clean energy including how energy customers across all sectors, like Google, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, and Citi are shifting the energy system, while building professional skills across a wide range of topics within the clean energy space.
Internship Overview/Summary:
The intern will be responsible for developing donor stewardship communications, including newsletters and other written pieces segmented by audience interest. This will involve culling information from CEBA and CEBI resources, including membership newsletters, press releases, and blogs, and repurposing it for donor updates. The intern will also conduct donor prospect research and draft internal memos. The ideal candidate will have a passion for climate and energy issues, research, and writing.
Intern Responsibilities
Map and track existing communications, philanthropy, and programmatic team reports and resources that can be used to inform philanthropic cultivation and stewardship collateral.
Track and aggregate activities and outcomes across multiple internal teams.
Draft compelling narratives for philanthropic audiences, including reports, newsletters, and solicitation pieces.
Research and identify new potential sources of revenue, including corporations, foundations, and major donors using donor database and philanthropic journals.
Assist with Salesforce data entry and updates
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Preferred or Additional Qualifications:
An understanding of energy policy or climate issues is preferred
A demonstrated ability to distill complex information into compelling narratives
Strong project management skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff across the organization to obtain content, information, and resources
Prior experience with Salesforce or other CRM preferred
Entrepreneurial approach and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Able to work effectively with others in a collaborative, team-based environment
Able to take initiative and solve problems independently
Passion for achieving CEBA’s vision of customer-driven clean energy for all
Shared commitment to CEBA’s core values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE)
Internship Structure :
Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Benefits: Interns are not eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, paid time off, and paid sick time. Interns receive pro-rated holiday pay during CEBA’s organization-wide holidays.
Educational credit: Eligibility for credit is determined by your educational institution.
Schedule: 20 hours/week. Weekly schedule to be determined with your supervisor, capped at 20 hours.
Orientation: All interns are required to virtually attend two welcome and orientation sessions. Exceptions may be considered after hire.
Content: Interns work directly with CEBA’s programs and quickly become an important part of the team. You work with a Supervisor who guides daily work, and a Mentor who ensures a positive experience and continual growth. Interns will identify 2-3 key objectives which are intended to be met throughout the course of the internship, agreed upon with your Supervisor, to ensure a mutually beneficial internship experience.
