Earthjustice’s Gulf Regional Office is accepting applications for 1-2 part-time legal externs for fall 2025. We are seeking current law students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment, and who are eligible to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement through this externship. The successful candidates may work remotely within the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from one of Earthjustice’s offices.

The Gulf Regional Office works across all three of our core program areas — healthy communities, climate and energy, and lands, oceans and wildlife. In collaboration with our clients and partners, we fight for clean air and water and to combat unjust pollution burdens; we fight for an equitable clean energy transition and for climate solutions that work for everyone; and we fight to protect the magnificent lands, waters and wildlife in the Gulf.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, the legal externs will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, and possibly participating in team meetings with clients/partners.

Legal externs are unpaid and must receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement for their work with Earthjustice.
