Position and Organization

The Faith and Church Relations Manager at Water for Good is the relational connector between our organization and other faith-based churches and organizations. Under the Director of Communication’s oversight, the Faith and Church Relations Manager will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships across the United States.

Water for Good is a US 501(c)(3) faith-based international development nonprofit with a global staff of approximately 110 people. We provide ongoing clean water services to over 850,000 people annually in one of the poorest countries on earth, with an annual budget of around $6.5 million USD. Objectives/Responsibilities of this Role

• • Manage church partner relationships:
    • Under the Director of Communication’s direction, the Church Relations Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with existing church partnerships, as well as new churches. This position will contact current partnerships working alongside the Founder, Jim Hocking to thank them for their contributions, create partnerships with prospect churches and solicit churches for financial partnerships.
    • Under the Director of Communication’s direction, this position should plan campaigns or initiatives to engage existing and new churches and various faith groups.
  • Manage prospective faith organizations: Research, create and manage a pipeline of prospective faith community partners.
  • Lead faith-based partnerships: For funding organizations that are faith-related, this position will help manage and cultivate these relationships.

• Speaking engagements:

• Represent Water for Good at public events as needed, speaking about our work, sharing stories and raising support. These speaking engagements will be limited and in conjunction with our donor base.

• • As opportunities arise, actively attend relevant community and faith-based events that have potential to yield new partnerships and revenue for the organization

• Database management

• • Ensure that church and faith groups information are accurate in Salesforce (Salesforce)
  • Record all meaningful relationships in Salesforce (donor database)

• Ability to work with diverse faiths and organizations
• Experience working with churches and faith-based organizations
• Donor relations experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Salesforce
• Previous church staff member/pastor

Job Details:

• Reports to Director of Communication
• Up to 25% travel may be required (primarily US, some international)
• Remote position
• Water for Good has small hybrid offices in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Rochester, New York. Candidates from those areas would have the opportunity to work in-person with a small team.
• Compensation Range: $65,000 to $85,000 annually
